Top PH movies from ABS-CBN to premiere in China

MANILA --( ASIA TODAY )-- Hit Filipino movies from ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, will soon make its way to China for the first time via Phoenix Movie Channel, after the network successfully inked a deal with Phoenix Satellite Television, a leading entertainment group that aims to provide Chinese everywhere with high quality content.

ABS-CBN titles that will premiere starting September this year include “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” a 2016 romance drama film that earned millions in the box office, which starred two of the Philippines’ biggest young stars, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

Dramas and rom-coms that are also well recognized overseas given their international theatrical and OTT releases such as “Four Sisters and a Wedding,” “My Ex and Whys,” “You’re My Boss,” “Everything About Her,” and “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” are also part of the lineup that will soon be seen on Phoenix Movie Channel.

Phoenix is also bringing to China other rom-coms that have made a mark in Filipino pop culture for their relevant themes, like “Love You To The Stars and Back,” “Dear Other Self,” “My Perfect You,” “To Love Some Buddy,” “Can We Still Be Friends,” “Always Be My Maybe,” “The Achy Breaky Hearts,” and “First Love.”

Completing the list is the restored Filipino classic, “Someday in Heaven (Hihintayin Kita sa Langit)”, and the romantic-drama, “The Wedding (Kasal)”.

All 16 films will air on Phoenix Movies Channel in the original language (Filipino) with Chinese subtitles.
