The New Age of Tableware

People have been using tableware since time immemorial, but of course different countries have different traditions. Alongside rapid development in China, the tableware market has also enjoyed hyper-growth. Up to 2013, the tableware market reached 900 million RMB, with total output exceeding billion RMB. The tableware industry is still in a period of explosive expansion. However, in China, foreign brands dominate the market, and the local market is saturated with ceramics and glassware.

New functional trends
Alongside the rapid development of the economy, the hotel industry has also enjoyed booming growth. In 2012, the new opening of five-star hotels totalled 154. Expo Tableware 2014 will provide a platform for dinnerware, vessels and desktop auxiliary supplies. In terms of materials, it will include ceramics, glass, stainless steel, gold and silverware, acrylic plastic, crystal, melamine, bamboo, and more... Melamine tableware is durable and beautiful, with bright colours, a good finish, and is non-toxic and odourless. New methodologies, new techniques and new processes are becoming new trends as tableware focuses on low carbon and green requirements, alongside the ability to withstand voltage and thermal stability, remain lead-free, and also offer customers a new green and healthy experience.

New fashions in tableware
As the “Ruyi ” series tableware has been launched by LEGLE FRANCE, Homebase has launched the “Ruyi banquet” which combines food and tableware, western and Chinese dietary habits, and restores the core values of Chinese catering to tableware. The design inspiration comes from the perception of life and culture, breaking with old dining traditions, and creating new dining habits that dictate that everyone has their own tableware, suggested a Homebase spokesman. The new promotional methods have obtained healthy feedback from the market. This demonstrates that tableware is not only about table setting, but also directly concerns the art of combining appliances and food.

More High-end brands are coming
Expo Tableware will meet you at the Shanghai New International Expo Center N2 and N5 on March 31-April 3rd, 2014. As an important part of “HDD”, HOTELEX is a one-stop procurement platform for hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, shopping malls,stores, high-end leisure entertainment and luxury real estate. It aims to provide more advanced and comprehensive hospitality solutions under one roof along with greater business opportunities. The exhibition area will span 22,000 square meters.
