The National Service Career Fair Concludes in Abu Dhabi Today

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 15 October 2019 --( ASIA TODAY )-- The 4th edition of The National Service Career Fair, organized by the UAE Armed Forces, represented by the National Service and Reserve Authority, in collaboration with INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, concluded today in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The 3-day event witnessed a remarkable success by opening channels of communications between the graduates of the national service program and various employers from different companies in the public and private sectors.

The third day witnessed a visit from Singapore’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Samuel Tan Chi Tse who toured the exhibition area and was introduced to the opportunities presented to the graduates of the national service program. The last day’s agenda featured several workshops and discussions that enriched the knowledge of students and recruits with the most important experiences required in the labor market, including a workshop presented by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs under the title "Introduction to Foreseeing the Future". The workshop tackled topics, such as, the definition of foreseeing the future, the tools for foreseeing the future, analysis mechanisms for foreseeing the future, the global trends in foreseeing the future, and the UAE Centennial 2071. Another workshop was held under the title “Building a Career”, presented by the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office, which focused on the first impression and career planning.

Commenting on EducationUSA and US Embassy’s participation at the National Service Career Fair, Rowan Atiya, EducationUSA Adviser, Public Affairs Office, US Embassy, Abu Dhabi, said, “U.S Embassy and EducationUSA are excited to take part of the National Service Career Fair. This fair is a great opportunity to open communication channels with students and graduates of the National Service program and provide them with accurate, comprehensive and objective information on U.S higher education and assist them in accessing educational opportunities in the U.S. At NSCF, US Embassy and EducationUSA also aims to ensure that all students get up-to-date information about the cultural exchange program offered at the U.S Embassy in Abu Dhabi.”

She added, “Education degrees are the pathway to a successful career. Educational and career fairs are of high significance that help us reach out to a wider population of UAE students and provide them with valuable insight and comprehensive information about study options available in the United States.”

Speaking about his participation in the exhibition, Khaled Mohammed Ali Bin Amer Alshemeili, Training Operations Director – Abu Dhabi, said: “The importance of this exhibition lies in its ability to provide opportunities for national service recruits to meet and communicate with the participating companies, entities and sponsors in the exhibition as it brings together jobseekers, corporations and organizations under one roof to attract national cadres in the UAE.”

He added: “The National Service Career Fair is a great platform for the recruits to learn about the vacancies that best suit their capabilities and interests which would help in increasing the number of the UAE citizens employees in the public and private companies and institutions.” He also pointed out that 35 job opportunities in the field of driving teaching and learning would be available for the recruits participating in the exhibition.

From his side, Dr. Riad Al Muhaidib, Director of Zayed University, said: “The National Service Career Fair enables the recruits to learn about the existing higher education institutions in the country and the academic options available to students who have completed their national service.”

He also said, “Zayed University is participating in the exhibition to renew its contact with students who were admitted last year and will join in the next semester after they complete their national service program. The event also enables us to answer all their questions and inquiries and confirm their admission to the university. It also provides an opportunity to attract more new students who have not applied to higher education institutions before.”
