Manufacturing Solutions Expo 2016 Continues to Provide Quality Content and Solutions

Singapore, 9 November 2016 --(ASIA TODAY)-- The third edition of Manufacturing Solutions Expo (MSE) held on 12 to 14 October 2016 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre once again scored a resounding success attracting 4,028 visitors across 26 countries. Jointly organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH), this year’s event was honoured to have Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of National Development to officiate the opening ceremony of the event.

This annual exhibition has attracted more than 85 exhibitors, partners, industry experts and distribution agents across 22 countries who represented more than 100 international brands which showcased the future of manufacturing spanning the entire value chain including digital factory, industrial automation, sustainable environment and supply chain. This sets the ideal platform for visitors to network, establishes new business partnerships and provides an insightful experience to visitors focusing on building operational excellence and adopting productive manufacturing practices though investments in new technologies and innovations such as: Abrasive Engineering, ADOS, BigRep, Brother, Cloudlocator, Dascom, Eqofluids, Expresso, Finmark Laser, Flexsim, Goldwind, Hirata, Infor, Inspire Seiki, Janatics, Maker Two, MiniTab, MPDV, Oanda, OGP, Qavar, Safetyware, Siemens, Solidworks, Spectris, Teloyne Dalso and many others.

MSE has increased its visitorships steadily with an increase of more than 25% visitors as compared to last year. Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Multi-National Corporations (MNCs) made up the majority of the visitors (more than 60%) who visited MSE2016. The up-to-date solutions and technologies provided strategic insights on how to reduce manpower, increase productivity and build a stronger Singapore core.

Other than the strong visitorships and participation from corporate companies, MSE is also well supported by government agencies and trade associations, including Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), SPRING Singapore, Workforce Singapore (WSG), Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), Enterprise Europe Network, IPI Singapore, Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME), Association of Process Industry (ASPRI), GS1 Singapore, IPV6 Forum Singapore Chapter, Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Singapore Environment Council (SEC), Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA), Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), Singapore Logistics Association (SLA), Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), Singapore Surface Engineering Association (SSEA) and Waste Management & Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS).

In addition, 150 delegates from the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Federation Thai Industry (FTI), Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce Industry (JBCCCI), Malaysia International Chamber of Commerce Industry Southern (JBCCCI) and local education institutions from Republic Polytechnic and ITE College West also attended the event.

Improving Productivity through Innovation

Co-located with MSE, the 6th edition of the Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre (MPTC) Annual Conference 2016, organised by Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), attracted close to 300 delegates. The conference promoted the use of technology and innovation, to enhance productivity for efficiency and effectiveness, as well as to engineer value creation. At this year’s conference, SIMTech launched several technology initiatives that cover a spectrum of common operational processes.

Aligning your business model through innovation solutions at MSE

1. Engaged close to 40 SMEs at the SME Centre@SMF booth

3 days of interactive meetings took place at the business advisory clinic where MSE’s visitors were given insightful advice on business diagnosis, information on government schemes and invitation to upcoming capability workshops. SME Centre@SMF continues to receive more requests and provides post-event services to the attended visitors to enhance their business capabilities in their various stages of business growth.

2. Alley of live demonstrations on additive manufacturing and robotics showcase

This 2nd edition workshop presented more than 10 cutting-edge technologies in 3D printing and industrial automation robots. This insightful seminar encourages businesses to adopt robotics solutions to improve productivity, time efficiencies and overcome manpower shortage.

3. Well-attended by close to 1,000 visitors at Manutech Xchange

Visitors walked away inspired by 33 international and regional thought leaders from Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore and United States. These industry experts presented the best practices of futuristic, new insights on manufacturing techniques and many other key relevant topics for visitors to learn and adopt at work place to improve business productivity and achieve workplace excellence.

Two MSE co-located seminars leading to the Future of Manufacturing

The 1st edition of The Future of Manufacturing Industry Seminar presented by Nomura Research Institute (NRI) with more than 10 industry experts shared the latest market outlook within APAC and ASEAN, the insights of Industry 4.0 and its impact on businesses, and equipping organisations with solutions on improving productivity and achieving business excellence. The seminar attracted more than 330 delegates to learn from fellow industry leaders on manufacturing implications of new age technologies and other solutions leading to future of manufacturing. The seminar closed off with an interactive industry 4.0 gallery to demonstrate the practical knowledge and possible solutions leading to the world of automation.

Another insightful seminar on Green Productivity and Green Factory Seminar presented by Foundation of Taiwan Industry Service (FTIS) shared the experiences of Green Factory Labeling System and Green Technologies that enhance productivity and environmental performance for sustainable socio-economic development. With a strong focus on environment sustainability in the manufacturing sector, this seminar attracted more than 200 participants and received numerous enquiries at the FTIS booth on ways on how to improve environmental performance in a sustainable way.
