Mar 19, 2017

On Thursday, March 2 and Friday, March 3, an international cybersecurity symposium titled "Cybersecurity: Preparing the Workforce" was held on Mita Campus.

The symposium focused on securing talent skilled in the area of cybersecurity. Many lectures, panel discussions, workshops, etc., were held on topics such as nation-state collaboration and how governments can work with each other and the private sector to enhance cybersecurity, cybersecurity education, and mobile phishing.

Furthermore, during the opening of the symposium, there was a signing ceremony for an academic exchange partnership agreement between Imperial College London and Keio University.* In November 2016, Keio University appealed to more than ten universities in Japan and abroad and established the world’s first InterNational Cyber Security Center of Excellence (INCS-CoE) to address cyberthreats. This partnership agreement was signed as part of the activities of INCS-CoE.

In addition to members from universities involved with INCS-CoE, many participants from abroad also attended the symposium, making it an event with a rich international atmosphere.

*The agreement was signed between Keio University’s Graduate School of Media and Governance, Faculty of Policy Management, and Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and the Institute for Security Science and Technology at Imperial College London.
