The Greatest Mix – F&N Drinks Creation Challenge
Nov 14, 2019

14 November 2019, Singapore --( ASIA TODAY )-- “Will I Instagram this drink?” is the common question asked by millennials before they choose their beverage. While taste cannot be compromised, the drink they choose, more often than not, must make an impression for themselves and their social media followers. Embracing this trend, F&N Foods and ITE College West’s School of Hospitality co-organised a platform for students to step up to the challenge and create exciting new tastes in mocktails from the F&N range of beverages.

The Greatest Mix – F&N Drinks Creation Challenge took place earlier today at the ITE College West campus. A platform for young and aspiring mixologists to showcase their talent where they created delicious and camera-ready mocktails with F&N products.

The 10 finalists flaunted their bartending and mixology skills to a panel of judges and an audience of teachers, friends and peers. The panel of judges present were Ms Jennifer See (Managing Director of F&N Foods), Ms Denise Tan (Director of the School of Hospitality, ITE College West), Mr Jasper Low (Treasurer of Association Bartender Sommelier Singapore) and Mr Dennis Ng (Director F&B, One Farrer Hotel).

In the welcome address, Ms Jennifer See, Managing Director of F&N Foods said, “This initiative is in line with ITE’s mission to create opportunities for school leavers to acquire skills, knowledge and values for employability and lifelong learning in a global economy. We hope that this challenge will offer students an opportunity to present their creations to a panel of judges whose combined experience represent the expectations of the future employers of the ITE graduates in the hospitality industry.” She add, “At F&N, we believe in supporting the aspirations of the young and hope that this experience will inspire them to excel in their chosen career and continue to contribute to the success of Singapore and its reputation for excellence in the hospitality and food and beverage industries.”

The 10 student finalists’ performances were evaluated based on taste, colour, creativity and the visual appeal of their creations. This year, three special awards - Best Showmanship Award and Students Choice Award (Winning Mocktail and Winning Student Voter), were also awarded to three contestants, based on the evaluation criteria and whose creation received the most votes from their peers, respectively.

The finalists at the competition featured a blend of two products and up to a maximum of five products from F&N’s of beverages including a wide selection of Healthier Choice beverages, as they presented their concoctions to the judges and audience.

Cash prizes totalling to $900 were awarded to the top three winners and $120 worth of Fraser vouchers were presented to the three winners of Best Showmanship Award and Student’s Choice Award (Winning Mocktail and Winning Student Voter).
