HONG KONG --(ASIA TODAY)-- Jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society (CHES), Water Expo China 2016 will open its doors from 15 – 17 November at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. Its key concurrent event, the 11th China International Water Business Summit, to be attended by reputable industry organisations and academia, is set to take place on 16 November.
The 2016 edition welcomes 156 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions and spans across 15,000 sqm of exhibition space. To address recent water conservation and environmental protection laws in China, the fair will return with a number of thematic zones including the Irrigation and Drainage Zone as well as the Water Information and Automation Zone. Additionally, visitors can find more than 30 award-winning products and solutions at the Dayu Water Science and Technologies Prize 2016 Zone. The award represents the highest achievement in water technologies in modern-day China.
Water enterprises, government officials, associations and institutions to share unique industry insights
The fair’s reputation as an effective platform has attracted a number of brands to exhibit again, including the brands Beijing Capital Co Ltd, Beijing HTGS Environmental Management Co Ltd, Poly Solar Technologies (Beijing) Co Ltd and others. Beijing Capital has recently teamed up with Delft University of Technology from the Netherlands and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture to establish the Sino-Dutch R&D Center for Future Wastewater Treatment Technologies with the aim to import cutting-edge water treatment concepts and technologies into China. Poly Solar Technologies (Beijing), authorised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, provides foreign aid supplies and launches cooperation projects. The company will showcase its sustainable technologies and latest environmental solutions at the upcoming fair.
The fair is backed by water bureaus and management offices at various levels as well as related societies and industry associations. The Science and Technology Promotion Center, Ministry of Water Resources, Sino Water Conservation Industrial Innovation Alliance, Water Information Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Capital Alliance of Water Industry will all come together to offer their unique industry insights and latest offerings in a zone spanning 450 sqm. Renowned local enterprises, led by hydraulic engineering societies from the Beijing Municipality and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Liaoning and many more, will also be joining the fair. In addition, visitor delegations steered by Hebei Environmental Science Society, Heibei Hydraulic Research Institute, Wuxi Hydraulic Engineering Society, Administration Bureau of South to North Water Diversion South Route, Haihe River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, Water Resources Department of Shanxi Province, and the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences of Peking University will be present to meet with exhibitors.
The 11th China International Water Business Summit will highlight “Innovation in Green Development”
The expo’s key concurrent event, the 11th China International Water Business Summit, will be held on the second day of the fair. The main forum will revolve around the theme of the “Importance of Innovation in Green Development”. Three other sub-forums are “Modern-day Information Technologies and Informalisation of Water Conservation”, “Patterns and Techniques of Water Ecology-Civilisation Construction” and “How Water Conservancy Fuels Urban Development – The Beijing Case Study”. These sub-forums will take a deep look into various subjects including China’s 13th Five-Year Plan, informatisation and the network of water resources, “Belt and Road Initiative” as well as water security.
For the first time, the expo will also host the council meeting of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society Council. The Third Session of the 10th Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society Council, to be held on the show’s opening day, will gather 176 members from the society’s board of directors to represent water resources ministries, direct units under the State Council, local societies, professional committees, unit members and fraternities. The members will also attend the fair’s opening ceremony, followed by a visit to the fair.
The Chinese Green Enterprises Going Global Forum and Establishment Ceremony of “the Belt and Road" Environmental Technology and Industry Alliance, jointly organised by CAS-TWAS Water and Environmental Excellence Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences and green giants in the country, is another highlighted event. Its goal is to help enterprises open up to overseas markets with the implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan and facilitate understanding among China and other developing countries.
