2018 World Robot Conference held at Beijing E-Town exhibits cutting-edge robots

Aug 20, 2018 (China Knowledge) - The 2018 World Robot Conference (WRC) was held in Beijing E-Town last week, with more countries from different continents this year displaying the latest achievements in the field of robotics.

The event held in Beijing from Aug15 to 19 had four platforms providing forums, exhibition, product demonstration and competition ground for unmanned robots’ activities. At the opening ceremony of the conference, Wolfram Burgard, president of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, said the Chinese robot market could reach USD 7.37 billion this year, of which industrial robots account for one-third, becoming the world largest market.

More than 160 domestic and international corporations exhibited their cutting-edge products in the robotics industry during the conference.

P-care, an elderly-care robot, possesses the ability of examining health conditions and assisting seniors to move around and help them shower attracted buyers from the healthcare and elderly-care industry.

Precision Cycloidal-Pin Gear Speeder Reducer, the latest products of Hit Robot Group (HRG), a major attraction at the show, was demonstrating the connection power mechanisms and actuators that transmit larger output torque.

As a major hi-tech hubs, Beijing E-Town seeks to cooperate with upstream and downstream integrated circuit (IC) equipment firms, constituting an the entire supply chain covering design, manufacturing and testing for the robot industry.

By 2020, the robotic industry in Beijing will reach more RMB 12 billion revenue. It will also establish 10 leading robotic enterprises that build, research and house R&D facilities.

In 2025 the capital expects revenue from this industry to garner RMB 60 billion a year, accompanied with development of artificial intelligence, advance operating software and applications.
